Laa gòn 2016! Sawadee 2017!

2016

Goodbye 2016! Hello 2017! Happy New Year 2017!
2016 have been a year of subbing at full throttle with a completion of 10 projects! Each and every projects have it’s up and down, excitement and draw back. And the project with garnered the most attention and probably the fastest subbed project that I’ve done so far would be none other than Karn La Krang Neung Nai Hua Jai. This is one lakorn that’s making me longing for more! Well maybe just an episode more!
While on the other hand the lakorn which I wish would not drag on to so much episode is the lakorn which is airing at the same time as KLKNNHJ, Sailab Rak Bpuan. I was so excited with SRB when it first started to air. I love the combi of Andrew Gregson and Ploy Cherman and on top of that the OST was performed by my fave Dome Pakorn too! The starting of the lakorn was fun and fast paced but towards the mid ending it started to drag on with too many flash back which makes subbing consistently a challenge and also I got bored timing and subbing the same scene over and over again!
Also in 2016, I started attempting subbing different genre than romantic comedy. Which is the “raeng” genre, the slap/kiss lakorn with Mon Rak Asoon. Yes, I do love a good slap/kiss lakorn and I’m sure there’s a lot of people who love it as well but as I’m a temperamental person, I get affected by whatever I’m subbing pretty easily. So that’s the reason why I usually chose something light and comedic over “raeng”! 😛
The down and drawback? Still the same issue as the previous year ever since I started subbing. The projects are being uploaded elsewhere ie. youtube, dramacool or other streaming sites without permission. I didn’t realised how many people are watching my subbed project until I tracked down these sites. And I got even more frustrated when I read the comments. Other than that, knowing that they have earned (with those popup ads and etc) for all the hard work and time that I’ve put in it doesn’t help too. I feel like I’ve been ripped off! So these are the things which makes me think maybe it’s time for me to retire! Well I’m only human, so if I can’t accept it, I think I should just stop rather than torment myself! 😛 Let’s hope we don’t come to that yet!
Now if I were to rank the 10 projects which I’ve completed in 2016 based on my personal preference from the least to the most I like…. Well, it’s a tough choice because if I don’t like the lakorn, I wouldn’t have started in the first place, right? I would say it would be based on my timing/subbing experience which one would I like least to best.

10. Sailab Rak Bpuan
Love the pra’nang and the special effect. But I was struggling towards the 2nd half of the show to get all the episodes sub till the end. As usual I try to complete all the project that I’ve started. I blame it on too much flash back probably to prolong the number of episodes. If they have just cut the episodes by one or two, it would be perfect!

9. Devil Lover
What can I say about this one? Nice scenery, supernatural story line for a change! Overall, cute!

8. Koo Woon Loon Paen Ruk
This one makes me fall in love with the pra’nang Win & Kwan that’s why I ended up picking up TMTJ. At first I was rooting for Natee and Korjan. But I find that the ending was pretty predictable.

7. Angel Destiny
I jump into this one solely because of Golf Pichaya. With my selection of lakorn you would have known by now that I’m a big fan of Golf! XP Overall, I’ve enjoyed this one more than I’ve anticipated. It’s pretty light-hearted.

6. Jaew Jai Rai Kub Khun Chai Taewada
Well believe it or not this is the first lakorn that I’ve ever watched! Yes, I only started watching lakorn not too long ago. I find that it’s a waste that it wasn’t fully subbed. I’ve always love Pae Arak and Aum Pachrapa.

5. Jao Sao Chapor Kit
I’ve been craving for Film so decided to pick this one up.

4. Mon Rak Asoon
I would say that this is my first “raeng” project. Not a big fan of the nang’ek but overall love it especially the supporting cast!

3. Gasohug
Awesome OST! I fall in love with Ice Nattarat at first sight! That’s what prompted me to pick up this one. 😀

2. Koo Prab Chabab Hua Jai
For once I’ve decided to sub a lakorn because of the story line. No regrets at all with this one!

1. Karn La Krang Neung Nai Hua Jai
What can I say other than love it! <3 <3 <3

So what’s instore for 2017? Well surely the ongoing project is still going to be on going with priority given to lakorn which I like better 😛 And Yes, Game Payabaht will be resumed once it starts airing. I have not seen any announcement on the airing date yet and if my prediction is correct it should air right after the end of Jao Sao Chapor Kit rerun which is likely by end of this month and probably just after Kon La Kop Fah ended which is perfect timing!

New project? I have a handful that I’m eyeing on which will go on air the first half of the year! And it makes the selection of which I wanted to pick up next a bit tough. There’s one I like the story line and genre but not that much on the Pra’nang.  And another that I like the Nang’ek and not the Pra’ek. And there’s two which I love both the pra’nang. Also another one which is remake and already on air with less famous pra’nang but love the story. I know I’m greedy but since we are a small team I understand that we are limited to how much we can take in! No confirmation of which project I’m going to take up next, so just stay tune!
